The 100 years since H V Greenwood formed what is now Fletcher Greenwood & Co., Chartered Accountants, have seen many changes in both taxation and accountancy. Throughout the period since formation the firm has provided both the business and private communities of Bradford and beyond with a high level of professional service.

The firm has been located at its current location of Broad Street, just off Manor Row, in the heart of Bradford City centre since 1928. From its town centre location it is conveniently situated for access to and from all areas of Bradford. The car parking on the firms Middle Street frontage making it particularly accessible.

The firm originally located in Northgate when Bradford was a newly created City. It subsequently moved to Town Hall Square, which interestingly had not been renamed on the change of city status, before the decision was made to locate in Broad Street. In Broad Street the firm conveniently overlooked the comparatively new Forster Square station in an area which was at that time dominated by textile firms.

The title of the firm changed in 1963 to reflect the involvement of Dennis Fletcher whose son Ian is now the senior partner. The Fletcher family had themselves been Bradford business people since the early nineteenth century. The family’s involvement in the life of the community being evidenced by members of the family serving on the then town council during the late nineteenth century albeit that for a period different members of the family, while working together, represented opposing political parties.

Fletcher Greenwood & Co. offers a wide range of services to its clients. The services particularly include advice regarding self-assessment both for personal taxpayers and for trustees.

The firm’s personal tax department offers advice on both self-assessment and all other areas of personal tax.

Fletcher Greenwood & Co. have always been at the forefront of new technology and this is particularly relevant in its personal tax work.
