THE PROVOST OF BRADFORD
The Very Revd John Richardson writes:Living faith on the frontiers of society is where the Christian Church and its members is called to be. I am delighted to offer the good wishes and the continuing prayer support for the work of the clergy and peoples of St. Pauls Church in Manningham.
Looking back over 150 years we can indeed thank God for all that has been achieved in this parish. We find ourselves in a vastly different situation to that of our predecessors but we are still called to be robust in our faith as we seek to serve the community, praying that Christ will give us opportunity to be agents of reconciliation, renewal and hope.
In the years that lie ahead there are many challenges before us, not only in our Christian discipleship but in making good news relevant to the people around us, often from different faiths, traditions and cultures.
We can be united in our service to the community as we seek better conditions in which to live, showing the hallmarks of Christian grace but at the same time we need to keep our integrity of the life of Christ at the heart of all we do. We can look forward with confidence, continuing to be open to God because people matter for the sake of Jesus.
