MANNINGHAM - St Mary Magdalene's (Church of England, Bradford Diocese)
The Church Building closed with effect from July 1st 2004 and the building has reopened in 2008 as a Church in the Holy Orthodox tradition
THE CHURCH
The church was built by public subscription in 1876 and represents one of the major thrusts of the Tractarian movement in Bradford. Its interior is dominated by the great east wall fresco of Christ in Majesty with themes from the Te Deum Laudamus. A modern western rite is used in worship today.
It was a daughter church of St Jude's where Fr. McKonochie occasionally preached. Today it continues to live out its motto "The faith preserved. The faith proclaimed" in a much changed and changing Bradford.
St Mary Magdalene's Church was linked with St Paul's Church to form the parish of Manningham.
The Parish of Manningham is linked with the Parish of St Thomas' in Christiansburg, Southwestern Virginia who are pleased to share their web-resources with us.
